Openning of Regional Educational Centre in Zrenjanin
Zrenjanin, September 24, 2014 – Regional Educational Centre – Banat (REC Banat) was officially open on a ceremony held on 24 September in Zrenjanin. This is the second educational centre of that kind in Vojvodina and in Serbia (the first one was recently opened in Novi Sad). Its activities are aimed at unemployed people under 30 and above 50, mid-aged unemployed people who received their severance pays, entrepreneurs, SMEs owners, potential investors, adult education organisations, etc.
Funds for establishment and equipping of this Centre were provided through the project called Education to Easier Employment- E3 developed by Regional Development Agency Banat and financed by EU and Austrian Development Agency programme Socio-economic Development of the Danube Serbia Region. Total value of this project is EUR 224 776.
Klaus Kapper from Austrian Development Agency, project manager of SEDDSR, said that this project was innovative because it is an instrument for resolving unemployment issue in Banat. He added that unemployed people should have knowledge and skills needed on the labour market.
Overall objective of this project is to contribute to decreasing long term unemployment through creating learning partnership and to develop Banat Region as an advanced knowledge-based society, with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion
